(June
10, 2026) Cody Overton and James Trantina III are excited
to announce that Overton will join Trantina’s Triple B
Motorsports Team, teaming up with Dan Ebert for the remainder
of the 2026 season in a Super Late Model.
Overton, 28, from Thomson, Georgia, who currently has 5 wins
during the ongoing 2026 season, is a Crate Late Model standout
that has found success in the Super Late Model ranks as well,
most recently winning a DIRTcar Summer Nationals event at the
Montpelier Motor Speedway in Indiana during the 2025 ‘Hell
Tour’ and winning the Winter Freeze at the Screvin Speedway
in Sylvania, Georgia to start the 2026 season back in February.
Trantina, 40, from St. Joseph, Minnesota, owns Collins Brothers
Towing of St. Cloud, a sprawling business that encompasses 18
towing and automotive companies across Minnesota, Iowa and North
Dakota, so he also no stranger to hard work and a vision to
grow his businesses into successful ventures. He is a longtime
racer as well and will embark on his rookie season behind the
wheel of a Late Model this season with both a WISSOTA and an
Open Competition Late Model at his disposal. Trantina also owns
I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN, North Central emr Speedway
in Brainerd, MN and the emr Granite City Motor Park in Sauk
Rapids, Minnesota, is no stranger to owning and promoting racing
events and facilities, and is looking forward to adding a second
horse to his open Late Model stable.
Trantina also said, ‘Cody and I met a couple of years
ago at the WISSOTA 100 in Fergus Falls, MN and we have been
in touch since. I made the trip to Volusia for the first time
to watch and Cody was having some bad luck. I helped out a small
bit and we continued to stay in touch. We came to an agreement
to get back in an open late Model full time and I’m really
excited to have a gasser like him join our team. I’ve
been talking to a few people to add a second driver on the Super
Late Model program and just couldn’t make a deal until
now. I wanted someone with experience and someone that will
fit with our operation. Cody checks all the boxes and is ready
to get back at it. We are all very excited to see where this
takes us and what the future holds for both of us.
When asked about the opportunity, Overton stated ‘James
has just a true blessing man. He is awesome. He helps so many
people and I am just so thankful that he picked me. He has always
been there for me and he just gives and gives. It’s just
awesome to be able to get to do it with him for sure.’
Overton will be back in his familiar #97 Longhorn Chassis powered
by a Clements Racing Engine, with sponsorship from Collins Bros.
Towing of St. Cloud, along with M&M Painting & Construction,
Granite Hauling & Grading, M&S Concrete, Budweiser,
Tribble Electric, S&S Fishing & Rental, Boswell Oil,
Kicklighter Company, among others that are currently being finalized.
Overton’s first start is tentatively scheduled to be
at the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilive, MN on Monday, June 22nd with
the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DirtVision.
